The Backyard Bioblitz, organized by Pacific Wildlife Care, invites you to explore San Luis Obispo County’s biodiversity by documenting the wildlife you encounter in your backyard or favorite nature spots throughout August and September. By participating, you’ll help contribute valuable data to support conservation efforts.

To join, download the iNaturalist app—available on the Apple and Android app stores by searching for “iNaturalist” with the green bird icon. 

Then, simply snap photos of the animals and plants you find and upload them to the app. Whether you’re in your garden, neighborhood, or on a hike, every observation helps scientists monitor and protect local species.
